"Jim's First Planes"

Created in 1937-39 during Jim's
apprenticeship.

The 5 (centre) ebony, from an old piano, are in the French
Cabinetmakers style.

The rest are made from birch
and mahogany. These are for
widening grooves, making drips for window-sills, and smoothing drawer-bottoms.

The bottom-left planes are tailed.
